Another cracker from the vineyards of Gillardi! Again here, Giovanni and Pinuccia have made a wine from what is considered the third grape of Piedmonte, and made it stunningly well. Bright purple with a fresh intensity that shows it is proud to be young and zestful. The fruit shows up as fresh blackberries and redcurrants and the palate zaps tannic acid fruit across your tongue and makes you wish you had bought more than one bottle for that riverside picnic. Ripe, surprisingly generous fruit, packed with flavours, and well balanced by zesty but not shrarp acidity. Quite delicious. |
