Emilia Romagna reckon they have Sangiovese sorted. No Tuscan cedar scented nonsense, forget herbs and the dusty summer roads around Arezzo. No, this is the fruit first, and lots of it. All ripe plums and cherries. Colle del Gelso is a light vibrant curranty wine that is such good value. Medium but bright blackcurrant colours , very upfront berry fruit. Warm but medium on the palate, lovely crunchy fruit finish. Very much a wine for sharing and enjoying without a guilty conscience. It is unoaked and refreshing and looks like a glass of enjoyment which it certainly is.

Cevico are the biggest company we deal with and they are big indeed. 4^th largest private winery inItaly but we like them and for some bizarre region, must be our smiles, they like us. They have a bewildering array of wines which is actually testament to how good they are. They make wines that are specific to the regions where the vines are grown and they keep that typicity to the forefront as much as they can.  AND we’ve discovered new wines as regions that we would never have heard of before.
